Well you would say that - given that every single one of your posts (that I've seen), is in the 'Microsoft Gaming' forums section

    Re: 360...is it worth it

It has the best software lineup for this generation, the way i see it, the 360 is what the PS2 was for the last generation, i'll get a PS3, just not right now, there's only one game i'm really interested in and thats MGS4 but even then i cannot bring myself to pay the asking price, maybe in a years time or so.

my falcon one has never overheated in ten months got a power surge once which put 3 red lights up but unplugeed it and plugged it back in sorted.

does run quite cool i get more heat out of my ocz psu on my PC than i do my xbox 360.

(if mine overheats tomorrow and dies i am so gonna regret saying this)

    Re: 360...is it worth it

The price cut is just the last reason now not to get one!

I've had every console ever made AFAIK other than PS3, and its easily my favourite. It wasn't though til PS3 started bleeding exlusives and now, with FF games on the way I'm rooted to 360.

Its got everything, some excellend football, fighting, FPS, action, RPGs you name it theres gotta be at least 5 top games in every genre in the bargain bin. I have about 25 games for my 360, and thats only because I sold 5 of them that I didn't get into...

5 out of 30 I didn't get into... you know what that means? There are 5 out of every 6 games you will like my friend. I can tell you now, the only other machine I keep so many games for is the PC. And even then, I sold 15 of them (for pittance bah!).

Now the 360 has the speed, quality, and down right everything that you need as a gamer. And if for some nuts jobs reason you are bored of your collection, you can download demos and arcade games on the marketplace! There has to be at least 20 acade games and 20 demos that'll keep you busy for at least 6 months right now.

I've known people sell PS3s and Wiis like hotcakes, everyone I know now owns 360s...

    Re: 360...is it worth it

i agree with richie on the cheap games front i have 33 games for my 360 in ten months.

just keep getting bargains like forza 2 for a tenner table tennis for £6 and most recently tiger woods 09 for £25

i reckon at least 20 of my 33 games have come it at under £10

I'll be tempted to get one once the rumoured price drop happens as it would be hard to resist!

Apparently GamesIndustry.biz have reported that Microsoft have confirmed the price cuts which will start from 19th September 2008!

So hold on for a few days if you're thinking of getting one!

The price cuts are confirmed: http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=15452

As to the OP's original question, my answer would be a resounding "yes!".

The 360, in my opinion, is the best all-round console to date. Its two major drawbacks are noise and reliability, however, even those critical ailments don't detract from the fact that it's a great experience when working.

With Friday's pricing, the Xbox 360 is certainly worth it - in my opinion.
