What actually happens to the mobo when it occurs. is it the TIM between the HS and chips being crapped, or is it solder points.
would using MX-2 or AS5 be helpfull, or could we stick on a TRUE?
If you;re getting the 3rlod then the only fix that has a chance of working is doing what's called the x-clamps replacement. THis is essentialy when you replace the clams holding the heatsinks in place, and bolt them to the CPU/GPU with machine screws, reaplcing the paste en route.
It's not guranteed to work - it did for me, but only for a month or so. I then baked my motherboard in the oven, which did the trick until GTA4 came out. A second bake fixed it again, but I don't know how much life it has left in it.
pathetic build quality from MS. i will never by a MS console again till its guaranteed that its reliable
I don't really know what you mean - are you talking about modding the inside to add fans or a different HSF? The case is limited in size, so doubt you could do that to be honest. The new models have a 3rd hs and a heat pipe so a lot of the issues are resovled.
If you wanted to change the hs you might want to consider the Xecuter 3rlod kit, it comes with it's own hs solution & an opening tool.
Maybe want to take a look at xbox-scene forums, they are plenty of case modders there.
