I'm sure he is having fun with it, it looks like a great game and review of 8.0 from IGN ain't a bad thing. I know I'd rather play RB than any Mario or football game.

Re: Has the cost of Rock Band put you off?

Someone needs to come up with a drum set and guitar combo that functions perfectly with Rock Band, Guitar hero 4 and Rock Revolution, as it is now I don't have the room, or the desire to own three different sets of plastic instruments, one is enough.

I can imagine it being great fun when youve got 2 pissed up mates with you, but at £180 (£150 at my store ) its WAYYY too expensive. Especially when your going to be paying through the nose for all the extra tracks.

Try having 3 mates all joining in as well as yourself so thats 4 in total all playing along, it's absolutely awesome.

It does help if you know and like the songs as well in all honesty as trying to sing the french/german one's just turns into a "laaa-laa-laaa-la-la-laaaa" fest with everyone laughing at the singer.

Oh and on Friday, my neighbours knocked on to complain about the noise of the drum.... they ended up joining in with my mates while I went to bed @ 11 and they were still going when I left for work in the morning.

picked up the game only, works well with the gh2 guitar and the wired headset. You get to play the bass, lead guitar and sing for 40 notes, its a shame i dont have the drums but not 70 notes worth

If it came with an aditional £43 jam tax, some of you would still buy it, no doubt.

And its not as if its the greatest game ev0r, I mean, it only got an 8.0 on IGN. Lower than Ninja Gaiden II, Grid, Uefa 2008. Plenty of better, cheaper games out recently...
Not really a fair comparison, is it? I'd rather play something very different and original like Rock Band than yet another racing/football game.

It's still too costly for me though. I just about allowed myself to get GH3 with the guitar for £70, I don't think I could ever stretch to £100+ though. Would be great for people who live with friends and can split the cost with no argument.

Maybe when the karaoke/plastic pad bashing/toy guitar twanging genre has fleshed out a little, more of the instruments will be compatible and of a higher quality. I'll have a look then.

Picked this up today with the drums and I have to say it's awesome fun

I know it's expensive but at the moment it's money well spent so far.

Looks like a bit of a laugh, but not something I'd spend anywhere near three figures on. Wait a few months until people have got bored and they'll be all over ebay like a rash.

Re: Has the cost of Rock Band put you off?

I bought the game only off ebay for £34. I am using the GH3 guitar and it works perfectly.
In fact I think it's better than GH3 in that it makes you FEEL like you're playing a guitar rather than a game (if that makes sense).

That's enough for me though, I won't be getting the drums or anything. Solo guitar will do.

Re: Has the cost of Rock Band put you off?

I was playing my mates Rock Band at the weekend. It is great fun, especially after a few vodka's. However, no way am I paying that much for it.... I'll bide my time and pick one up from eBay when everyone is bored with it. It's fun, but not that much fun....

The drum pedal is killing me at the moment, I don't mean as in it's messing my game up I mean as in physical pain :/ I'm gonna have one calf like Arnie soon. I think I'm sitting to low, but the hight adjuster on me chair is broke

Re: Has the cost of Rock Band put you off?

It was just the cost putting me off buying Rock Band. But now that they've announced Rock Band 2 for September, that's put the nail in the coffin!

Looks like the choice will be Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero 4.

Re: Has the cost of Rock Band put you off?

Isn't the hardware for Rock Band going to be compatible with Rock Band 2 anyway?

If it's not then that is going to be a suicide call on behalf of the developers.
