yes its a good thing and a bad thing. if they make FF13 on seperate ps3 and 360 then its good but if they simply make it for the ps3 or 360 first and then PORT it. its bad. especialy PC Ports. ps3 and 360 dont have identical hardware.

take gta4 for example. they could have EASILY made the texture res higher on the ps3 version but they diddnt because they wanted to fit on a dvd. game like mgs4 on the ps3 would eitehr be on multiple disks or have low res textures and sound.

not many companies make a dedicated game for ps3 and a dedicated game for the 360, its all ports.. they make it for either and port it over which is bad.

I may be wrong, and I don't want to start an argument over which is best but, I read somewhere that GTA IV's resolution on the 360 was 720p and the PS3 was slightly less.

The thing with Sony, which I found with PS2 is that it is always a totally new platform. When Sony release these consoles, as with PS3, no-one is going to be able to make use of the "Power" for a least a few years. So really, you won't see much difference in the the games between 360 and PS3 until at least another couple of years. And I always thought that PS3 and 360 both output 720p or 1080p max.

I was toying with the idea of getting a 360 later in the year, but I think this announcement just sold it to me.

The 360 really is the platform for JRPGs at the moment, and I'm still slightly amazed that I'm saying that!

Not sure about this, but isn't the 360 doing better than the Xbrick? Now thats saying something. MS have done everything they can to support the Japanese gaming market, but they just don't trust MS. With Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean both coming out on the 360 may give them a boost, but neither of these games have been classed as exclusives (probably just timed exclusives) so it wouldn't surprise me to see both on the PS3.

At the moment it's madness for any JRPG to be a 360 exclusive in Japan.

haha that's great! Now I will never buy a console lol! And it is being developed on the PC so both PS3 and 360 are going to be ports, right?

Nothing has actually been announced. That rumour appeared yesterday and seems to be stemming from Nvidia

A quick google shows that everyone is posting the news with N4G as the link, with them in turn posting Nzone as its source. Shacknews has what i would think is the truth, in that FFXIII is being built on PC with some nice new tools that they have.

Lets put it a different way. In the first line of the original report on Nzone it says

On the first day of the show(E3)

If that was the case how come its taken 10 days for this announcement to come to light? Do you really think that Square-Enix would make such a low key announcement to one of their biggest games? I don't think so.

So for now i would take all this with a pinch of salt, and rejoice if (when) an announcement is made.

As i said in my last post. All these rumours have only appeared in the last day or so. Even the Kotaku link you gave links to a blog dated 14th July. And that doesn't even mention anything about a PC release.

The nearest thing i have seen so far is

kitase says they're currently running it on a pc, so they don't know the work load of getting it on the 360. they are putting priority on the PC version.

Am i sure its not coming to PC, nope. But i'd prefer to see a proper statement from Square-Enix rather than some side comment about getting a PC version running so that they can port it to the 360.

yea i see what you mean. i suppose there plan si to release it on the consoles first and then within months gone, flip the swicth and release it on the pc has it wont be too much work for them to do so. no need for porting etc and we could have a pretty stable pc version of the game, not a crappy port.
