PS3 hard drive replacement?

What is biggest harddrive you can put in ps3 is 1tb or 750mb

Has to be 2.5" SATA, so 500GB is the biggest Scan do.

FYI - everything's all fine now. For some reason the original backup went a bit wrong, so I just put in my first hard drive again and did another back up.

I've not got everything backed up and working on my new hard drive .

This is a worrisome thing about the PS3 *backup* procedure, it doesn't seem to verify the backup.

Whilst it is ok for hdd upgrades as most people will still have the original drive to hand, imagine if your original drive had actually failed during use and then you find out that your backup will not restore...

Assuming they make 1TB 2.5" SATA drives (in the future), can they be used? or is there some kinda hardware/software limitation?

I'm trying to upgrade my PS3, but I'm stuck on backing up my old HDD, I have formatted a 2TB WD Mypassport to Fat32, connected it to my PS3, but when I go to the Backup Utillity and click Backup It says "Connect storage media at the save destination" the Mypassport is connected to the USB, anyone know whats up with this?
