Would be good if they did allow it though, imagine the gameplay online then.
Also the Arguing for which is better would die down a bit, as they both interacted.

    Re: ps3 and xbox

Problem is - what's in it for MS and Sony?

Scenario: Tom has an Xbox 360 and Peter has a PS3. They want to play a multi console released game together.

In the current situation, at least one of them would have to buy the other console for them to play the game together.

If multiplayer games were made playable across consoles, then MS/Sony may well have missed out on another customer.

    Re: ps3 and xbox

    Very good point
Maybe one day they will both combine and create a console together
Would be amazing, and there wouldn't be as much competition
And if they made the games expensive just because they have linked
Then the customers won't be as happy, but they will both make profit
but then loose some customers all together
Never know though, they make take the risk in years to come.

    Re: ps3 and xbox

Like the Xbox 360 and the PS3? Lol!

The only true orginal console is the Wii, the other two just carried on from where the predecesors left off, however the competition is good for keeping prices of the consoles lower, the PS3 wasn't £450 for very long now was it?

And I have none of the above consoles, so don't go all "you're a fanboi" just I've played them all, and the Wii seemed the most refreshing to play but the other two are also not rubbish consoles

    Re: ps3 and xbox

The Wii always comes across better the move freinds you have over, I personally find the Xbox and Ps3 get far less play where I live now they simply are no where near the level of fun if you have a lot of people over.

    Re: ps3 and xbox

Round my friends last night, He's got an Elite and after 3 hours of fallout 'piff' RROD, he has had enough, that's his 4th Fourth 360, after getting fed-up with his normal 360 breaking and having to return it he went out and brought an Elite and after 4 months that has now gone tits up.
He will return it and sell it, and this weekend is going to buy a Playstation 3.

    Re: ps3 and xbox

He could buy 2 360's have change left over for some games, then if one RROD he could just swap it and it would still be cheaper than a PS3.
