I remember reading somewhere that its being released on November 19th, so not long to go.

Edit: Found a decent source here

    Re: New Dashboard...

Yep November. Majornelson provided a link to MS Connect where a few thousand people will be able to install the new dash next week (I think) but it opened at a stupid time for the UK.
I imagine this means the new dash is actually finished as it's too late for a beta so why the delay MS?!

jammy bugger! The biggest thing I want to know is how much space game installs take on the HDD, i think the teaser GTA4 video showed about 6gig, gives you room for 2 games & nothing else on a 20gig drive if thats the case!

    Re: New Dashboard...

I doubt it would compress it much (the the CPU would be tied up with decompression while trying to read it). MY guess would be slightly different sizes per game, but an average of 6>8Gb.
    I'm fine, I'll have my 120Gb HDD

On a note though, how many different games will you be playing at one time? I guess they figured that most people play 1 or 2 at a time, thus a 20Gb would be sufficient. When you're finished, just delete it off your HDD.

I'll be putting Fable II onto mine, fed up of the loading times, and a quiet 360 would be a plus.

Anyhoo, I should know by tomorrow if I'm in the program. Watch this space.

    Re: New Dashboard...

I got an email from Microsoft this morning to say that I'm getting NXE in the next couple of days:

Congratulations on your acceptance into the Xbox 360 Fall Flash Preview Program. As a member of this program you will be receiving the New Xbox Experience (NXE) System Update.

The update will be made available to you on or before November 1st. In order to receive the update, log in to Xbox LIVE with the Preview Program registered console.

In participation with this program, you should not move your storage device (hard drive, or memory unit if you do not have a hard drive) to any other console as it will also update that console. If an unregistered console is updated with the NXE update, that console will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE until the NXE has been officially released on November 19th.

Please remember that your participation in the Public Preview Program is subject to the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use.

We thank you for your participation and hope that you enjoy the New Xbox Experience.

    See you online,

    The Xbox 360 team

    Nice!

Engadget have done a good feature on it - and Kotaku have a number of articles too.

Once I've had a poke around it myself, I'll try and post a few impressions...

You probably will be, but it's doubtful people will keep quiet

You might just get a preview service as I get a lot of updates to it.

that whole netfilx thing though is pretty pointless for me as it requires a xbox live gold account AND a seperate subscription to netflix and as far as i can tell netfilx is only available in america at the moment or will it be launched to coincide with the uk launch of the new dashboard?

    US only

Some of the stuff is states only but could come via Lovefilm or something at a later date, no UK company has the infastructure to cope with it atm
