PlayTV - how do you update?

Got my brother a PlayTV unit for his birthday - he loves recording all sorts of crap over Christmas.

Anyhow, hooked it up to the PS3 and it works ok but it keeps saying there's an update available. Unfortunately, as with just about everything else on the PS3, it doesn't do anything to explain and there's no clue as to where the update can be found. There's nothing in PlayTV settings and the system update on the XMB says no new updates are available.

Whilst I'm here, do all PS3s have no USB ports on the back? We couldn't find one so had to plug it in to the front. It works, but it doesn't look too pretty.

I've also not had to update Play TV. Are you perhaps mistaking it for a system update?

Lowe, I don't think I am. When you load PlayTV, underneath Live TV it says "Update Available" with a spinning circle next to it. First I thought the spinning circle meant it was updating, but I left it a while and nothing happened.

In the settings menu (I think), it tells me it's PlayTV v1.00. Do you know which version you're at?

No rear USB ports which is an oversight IMO. From Wiki:

Will check to see what version I'm at when I get home. Odd though, every other app/game has prompted me saying updates are available, but PlayTV never has. Weird.

I was thinking of purchasing Playtv. Is it any good?

Well i just got it today and i found out how to update play tv just go in to settings then go down till you see about then it will let you update from there
