Play TV - add on box for the PS3, turns it into an upscaling TV recording box. Can record and play games simultaneously too.

    No.

PlayTV is a DVB-T (Freeview) tuner.

Why not just get the new sky box which can record? I have virgin, but I'm sure it's pretty much the same with sky (recording and stuff I mean)?

if you save them to the sky hard drive it does not take long to fill up

    Re: PS3 as a PVR

Best way round this is to get yourself the PS3 for games, DVDs and Blu-ray films. Build yourself a cheap media computer to handle all the recording etc.

    Re: PS3 as a PVR

    Buy a Tivo PVR.

That can record from sky, cable or freeview boxes, with its own EPG.
Needs a £10/month subscription, but you can buy lifetime subbed units on ebay or elsewhere.
