Using a XBox 360 pad with PC games??

Hi there, is there any way you can find out which "Games for Windows" titles are compatible with the Xbox 360 for Windows controller? I have Fallout 3 and Crysis that both work great but Stranglehold does not work at all.

It does say on the back of the box in the form of a little controller sign (although it doesn't for Crysis) but I buy online so I cannot see the box. Anyone know any others that deffo work?

    Thank's, Cus

Grab older versions of xpadder ( released as freeware once the latest version is out)

you can map the controller and thumbsticks to whatever you want

essentially making every game work with the 360 controller and being able to use it for normal tasks like on the desktop moving mouse opening things etc

The wired pad I bought recently had no CD/DVD disc whatsoever, just the joypad, 9 ft of cable and the warranty stuff in various languages.

Yeah, Vista 64 did when I connected the pad.

What's great is prototype saw the pad and changed the controls to what they are on the 360 as well.

    Win-win situation all round

All "games for windows" games should work fine as they've got to be compatible.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Games_for_Windows

Support for the Xbox 360 "wired" controller and the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows (same product with different name) if game supports other controllers
Although depending on how you read that it could be that if the game supports a controller it's got to support the Xbox 360 pad but it doesn't have to support any controllers.

Thank's TAKTAK, Xpadder done the trick I might actually buy the new version (if there is one) as I would gladly give the guy a tenner for his work as i think it is a great app.

Thank's to everyone who offered a suggestion as well

Does it have the red packaging? It will have a disk but you don't actually need it since windows installs the drivers for you. Works just the same as the wired pad.

Sorry I should have said they are both wired controllers I bought, the Xbox 360 Live one came in a green and white packaging. There is clearly no disc as the back of it is clear plastic and you can see the info and instruction pamphlets neatly packed behind the wire.

Anyway I got it sorted thanks to xpadder. I even got it working with Conan AOH although I have not mapped it out the way I would like it yet.

But if it doesn't, then you should be able to download the drivers from http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/do...ategory=Gaming
