Need help with PS3 to LCD Monitor

hi, i'm currently using a monitor : Acer G205H(which supports HDCP), and a speaker : Sonic Gear Morro 200
i've viewed some guides to make it work on my LCD monitor, however there's this "No Input Signal" shown in the display
currently, i'm using the HDMI cable for video, HDMI->HDMI(female)-DVI(male)adapter->my monitor port. the adapter i'm using is a DVI-D dual link, i'm wondering if it's the cause of the problem as it is written there on the monitor DVI-I INPUT
for audio however, i'm using a y-splitter cable, red/white RCA connected to a connector to the red/white rca of the PS3, the splitter has 3.5mm stereo jack(female) and red/white RCA(male)
sorry for my poor explaination, however, what is wrong with it?

What resolution does your monitor support ? You may also need to reset your PS3 - do this by turning it on and holding the power button, it should beep and turn itself off. After that it will of returned to default/fail safe settings and provided its a resolution issue, display on your monitor.
