Anyone seen the news snippets on this.

It seems that harmonix have improved the game and are adding a keyboard to the range of 'hardware' to play.

Not really... it depends on the relative value of the item.

For example, I got the hardware kit for RB1 for a measly £100 quid.

Now if you divide this by the time I've spent playing rockband on my xbox 360 it works out less than 1p per hour of actual gameplay time.

Then RB2 came out and all I needed to purchase was the game. Again, I played and played and played this all the time and must have played it for at least 300-500 hours, probably more.

As such, it depends on whether or not you use the kit a lot. If your like me, I think it is fantastic value for money when you factor in all the hours of gameplay this hardware has given over the years.
