Burnout Paradise is an excellent game off and online what with all the challenges, although not sure how much fun it will be with a party of mates.
Motorstorm Pacific Rift is a laugh plus it's 4 player split screen.

Burnout Paradise, still playing that game, what 2 years on? Get the complete pack with all the DLC and patches.
Motorstorm Pacific Rift would be my Plan B.
Burnout paradise is great with the party pack and four controllers.
the reason burnout was so great on ps2, was because there was nothing like it when it was released, its not the same anymore. it would be fun to play with your mates on multiplayer. ridge racer 7 is a great game as well, its really fun in multiplayer.
Gran Tuuuuurismo ^^
I enjoyed in NFS Underground to!
Why not Need for speed shift?? thats a pretty good racing game that might hold you over until GT5 is out.
I had split second and it was great fun to play with my mates and i think you can play up to 4 people at the same time as well.
As Gran Turismo 5 is now out, I would recommend that. It has split screen for 2, but that will let the others admire the graphics and laugh at you when your mate pips you at the post.
The arcade part allows alot of the good cars available immediately, although you need to put a lot of hours in the proper game to get the most out of it.
With reference to Burnout Paradise - it is a cracking game. Single player or online.
Burnout Paradise is a lot different to the previous burnouts, and I agree that after 2 it got a bit cack- but paradise raised the stakes again.
Split second and blur are both good racers and cheap as chips now.
Oh yes...oops. Saw the last post from Dec, and thought he still may be looking.
