    Re: The New Xbox 360

    Anyone got one yet?

Was thinking of taking the plunge and getting a 360. After looking at buying a used Elite model, I decided I may as well just get a new style one, especially as I'll need the wireless anyway.

Think I'll probably trade my current elite in when Halo Reach is released - no doubt they'll be a deal where the game comes with it

I don't know why but I just don't like the look of the thing. I much prefer the classic 360. However the technology inside it might sway me. But only for the 360 exclusive games.

Only thing I'm concerned about is the glossy black finish, it scratches so easily! And it attracts the dust (from experience with pc monitor). I never know the best way to clean that surface, even a soft cloth seems to scratch it. Other than that, I am tempted by the 250gb hd and sleek design. I wonder though why the ps3 was changed from the glossy black to the matte finish...

    Re: The New Xbox 360

There is also a new one with a smaller drive coming out, it has a matt black finish

    http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Hardwa...-4-GB-Console/

I think the glossy black looks nice but then it attracts dust, finger prints and scratches which spoils it, I assume this new one is the replacement for the arcade just with a smaller hdd fitted, 4gb does seem an odd size though.

I consider myself pretty platform agnostic. Last gen I owned all 4 of the post PS1 consoles (DC,PS2,GC,XB). This gen I very cold to the Wii, partially due to waggle, partially as I just didn't get Nintendo's games. So it was only ever going to be the 360 and PS3 for me.

I waited for both consoles to come out at prices I could afford and with games I wanted. I bought a PS3 first as I wanted to play Uncharted, R&C, Valkyria Chronicles, MGS4 and so on. My plan being to buy a 360. I then got the chance to borrow my mates and play Mass Effect. Thankfully HDD install was now an option as I probably wouldn't have even bothered playing at all the sheer amount of racket that thing put out. Whilst I enjoyed ME, I then went on to upgrade my graphics card and play the PC versions, because even that is quieter.

Sooo, E3 2010 and MS bring out the 360 I want with even more nice features. It looks like finally and belatedly the a 360 will be taking up position in my TV stand where a space has been wait for it for some time.

Anyone else coming off the fence?
You are what I wanted as a kid... to have all the consoles... unfortunately... my parents only let me have a n64 (mind you it was 2nd hand and i only bought it because I loved the zelda games).... I had a sad sad childhoood LOL. Xbox360 is awesome though. Still dont own consoles but would buy the 360 when the day comes!

The new xbox 360 S looks really nice, and the value of the console is just amazingly good it beats the PS3 price range by far.

By the way the 360 slim is not whisper quiet like microsoft said its just as loud when you got a disc in there as the old 360s but when theres no disc in the drive it is a little quieter

    Re: The New Xbox 360

I just don't know how it can be called slim by people the thing is no smaller then the previous and I agree with others the gloss is horrible.

The Halo Reach silver one looks ok but theres things i just see as pointless like the touch sensitive eject button that would be better if it was a slot drive which it should of been.

the new arcade one as well i see as stupid 4gb that is lame why didnt they put in some of the old smaller drives in it 20-60gb or even do it as 120 for arcade and 320-500 for higher model.

Because 4GB is all they need to inject Kinect into the market.
