    The New Xbox 360

    OK, quick heads up.

I currently own: a PS3, PS2, Xbox 1, PSP, ZX Spectrum, PC, Dreamcast. I have owned: DS Lite, Gamecube, PS1, Master System, Lynx, Amiga 1200, various PCs, GBM.

I consider myself pretty platform agnostic. Last gen I owned all 4 of the post PS1 consoles (DC,PS2,GC,XB). This gen I very cold to the Wii, partially due to waggle, partially as I just didn't get Nintendo's games. So it was only ever going to be the 360 and PS3 for me.

I waited for both consoles to come out at prices I could afford and with games I wanted. I bought a PS3 first as I wanted to play Uncharted, R&C, Valkyria Chronicles, MGS4 and so on. My plan being to buy a 360. I then got the chance to borrow my mates and play Mass Effect. Thankfully HDD install was now an option as I probably wouldn't have even bothered playing at all the sheer amount of racket that thing put out. Whilst I enjoyed ME, I then went on to upgrade my graphics card and play the PC versions, because even that is quieter.

Sooo, E3 2010 and MS bring out the 360 I want with even more nice features. It looks like finally and belatedly the a 360 will be taking up position in my TV stand where a space has been wait for it for some time.

Anyone else coming off the fence?

game have listed trade in prices to get 360 slim, might swap my elite (£100) out as as its often used as a media streamer, and if its as quiet as the youtube vids make it appear its worth the expense, for me.

What do you use for streaming Flibb? I use PS3mediaserver right now and as far as I know it has very good support for the 360.

Anyone know how much the new console is gonna cost in the UK? I know they say around 300 USD for the US but my nephew quoted me 300 quid here in the UK!! I hope not though.

    Re: The New Xbox 360

I've got mine on pre-order at GAME, only because I've got nearly £60 on my reward card. I was going to use it to get Natal when it was released but I think it's going to be more than I'm willing to pay for it on release.

£185 is a very good deal indeed though.

    Re: The New Xbox 360

I think i'll be picking one up. My Elite half-died around a month ago and i can't rely on my flatmate's now since i'm about to graduate/move out.

Looks interesting although from the looks of it, it doesn't seem *that* slim.

    Re: The New Xbox 360

The new Xbox 360 does look really interesting but no doubt it will restricted and held back by the poor Xbox 360 dashboard system software and the lack of features that it does require.

I don't understand why Microsoft haven't allowed for a userable internet browser, there was also talks for BBC iPlayer to come to the Xbox. But Microsoft insist that users will need a gold Xbox Live account and because the BBC iPlayer is funded by the British tax payers they have stalled on the idea.

Stuff like Facebook and Twitter aren't really needed on the console and I always thought of them as a waste.

Oh well lets hope Microsoft do something decent in the next update.
