    Little Big Planet 2

Take it there's not a whole nuch of Sony fans in this community since there's no mention of LBP2!

So... who has it, and is it as epic as it looks? I'm thinking I'll be picking it up relatively shortly. As an indie game developer I'm eager to try out stuff that other indies have made - LBP2 'games' are no exception. I'm also wondering how they can possibly making it easy enough to create games with any depth...

    Re: Little Big Planet 2

Are the LBP games really that good? must be played games? I'm looking at getting a ps3 at and with all the LBP2 bundles about i checked out the reviews and sure it looked great with amazing options for user generated content etc.. but what it boils down to when i look at it, having never played LBP or LBP2, is that it just looks like a side scrolling platformer (a great one though). I played enough of them when i was a kid, so not really drawn to a side scroller.

Are LBP and LBP2 just really good platformers, or do ther bring so much to the table that even if you've no real interest in a side scroller they are one of those games that are a must play as they've change how the type of game works?

Haven't finished LBP yet, probably never will either. Great game, but I would never want to play it alone.

    Re: Little Big Planet 2

Yeah, it is much better co-op.

A far as platforming mechanics and stuff, I'd say the first one was actually a slightly sub par platformer with funky level design. The community content is really where it shines - if you're expecting a solid platformer you might be disappointed.

I'm not sure whether that kind of thing helps - but to be honest, rather than picking up LBP2 for £40 you may as well grab a copy of the first game (or get a demo) - the first one is kicking around for £10 in places.

    Re: Little Big Planet 2

Yeah, i've been deciding between the 160gb ps3 for £196 or the 320gb bundle with LBP2 for £228, think i'll spend the extra £32 and get the bigger hdd version. That way if i don't like LBP2 i can trade it in for £20ish hopefully and will have basically paid £208 for a 320gb hdd ps3.

    Re: Little Big Planet 2

Good choice, though I'd aim more at around the £25 mark for selling LBP2

The extra hard drive space is definitely useful; those game installs on PS3 are a bit of a pain and they mount up very very quickly.

    Re: Little Big Planet 2

Got LBP2 on day of release - but haven't managed to get on the PS3 much since then - my 2 daughters play it incessantly. It looks amazing, with some nice improvements over the original. Some of the community levels are incredibly creative, I just wish I could get at GT5 occassionally.

    Re: Little Big Planet 2

Been playing this tonight, it's fun wouldn't saw it was a must have game, but as has been said it's probably much better multiplayer and i doubt i'd pick it up to play online over other games, unless my nephew or nieces were down. So think i'll be taking it in to Game tomorrow to trade it in, especially as they offered me £35 trade for it today. So on top of the £12 cashback i got from Tesco means my 320gb ps3 will have cost me £181 providing i don't get in and find the trade in price has changed over night.

Anyone know if you can use the trade in gift cards they give for online purchases?

It is a really clever game and if you like indie stuff this will be great for you. Level creation is really well implemented and the game if one of the best two player I have played (up to 4 players)
