Hated Xbox points, they were made so you always had to buy way over whatever you wanted to purchase. I prefer just paying in dosh

Yeah, just as someone said earlier. Youre tempted to buy something but you have to buy a lot more points for you to make the purchase, thus leaving you with points left over in your account that dont buy anything decent so you have to buy another bulk amount of points to buy the item and putting you into a vicious circle.

Finally Lost count how many times I've not bought something because I'd have to buy more points then the item itself and then be left with an un-spendable amount of points just sitting on my account...

I liked the points scheme.
It meant that retailers often discounted the cards as I think they weren't exactly sure of the monetary value.

But odd point amounts do annoy me.

With the points system at the moment, you can sometimes get items cheaper when retailers do deals and such. But I agree that left over points are annoying. Hopefully the marketplace adjust its prices accordingly to compete with other digital distribution services. As most of the stuff on there at the moment is pretty expensive.

Sounds like good news to me. Hopefully will give much more insight to how much people are actually spending when they buy a pretty pointless item, should save some parent's wallets.

I think it's better the way it is, you can often buy points at discount price, when/if things change to real currency then you'd won't get any chance to buy things on discount unless Microsoft want you to. Right now you have options when things go on sale on Xbox, you spend less points per item plus when shops have sales you can get points cheaper so you get more bang for your buck.

Well as long as they give me a good exchange for my existing ones, bout 4200 of them in the last sale.
