    Destiny - Your thoughts?

    Your thoughts on Destiny?

Me personally, I'm not sure what to make of it. Just seems to be alot of repetiveness.

Maybe I need to play abit more despite being Level 15 Titan. Or hold on to it and trade it in when GTA 5 is released.

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

It looks like a mix of Halo and borderlands.
It's a bit over-hyped (Rome 2 total war says hi) but I'm sure it will turn out fine.

I think the graphics are okay but to my eyes they aren't on par with crysis 3, which is disappointing.

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

I'd been holding off to see some reviews and some of the earlier one have mentioned repetitiveness.

I am curious to give it a try though as there's precious few games for the PS4 at the moment.

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

Played it at my mates at the weekend. I'm not a big shooter fan, usually the art style has to hook me.

Destiny really did. I almost bought a PS4 at the weekend (sold out).

Then I watched the Gaint Bomb crew playing it on the PS3. Looks like accounts work across versions. So you won't be playing PS4 players, but you won't lose your characters going either way. They had some 20+ level character from the PS4 version playing in the PS3 no probs.

Because of its art style it doesn't look like a huge mess on the PS3, or at least no worse than any other multi platform game.

So I will probably pick up a PS3 copy and give it a bash. For Halo players its possibly a bit weak, but I only had an Xbox, not a 360 or One. So never played any but Halo. Which I was not amazed by.

If you can rustle up a few mates on the platform you all have, probably play it on that rather than be johnny no mates on the next gen version.

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

Destiny absolutely blew me away. At first, I thought the game was going to be a total disappointment, but I think that Bungie did excellent with this one. The graphics are stunning, and sort of reminds me of Borderlands' style of gameplay, but of course, Borderlands is still better than Destiny, in my opinion.

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

Enjoying it atm, but theres not enough to it yet. It claims to be an MMOFPS but with limited advancement and limited planets and missions, it needs to expand, and fairly quickly before it loses its fanbase.

Being Bungie, and being partnered with Activision Blizzard I am pretty sure that they have this covered already.

I've really liked the trailer and gameplay. But a lot of people have been saying to wait until it comes out and for the reviews, so that we don't get disappointed with the overhype like Watch Dogs :/

Felt repetitive to me as well. The respawning enemies (often right in front of you) didn't help either

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

I just got this last week and it is pretty fun. It's not a great game by any stretch but it's solid - although I agree it is a bit repetitive.

I really need to get teamed up with people for the high level events though - I'm at level 20 but don't have any of the really high level gear yet and, even if i did, I wouldn't fancy trying them solo.

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

I really enjoyed it, found that having to access the website though to read the grimoire cards disconnects you from the world. I have also done all the missions and the strikes (except the level 26 raid) so got through the content now. Not into multiplayer so now its just sitting there.

    Re: Destiny - Your thoughts?

Just finished the story on this (if you can call it a story) and, while the game itself is pretty decent, I have to say the cut scenes, scripting and particularly Peter Dinklage's voiceover are absolutely awful. You can see where the development team, with access to Activision's coffers, have gotten carried away with themselves.
Peter Dinklage is not a good actor to begin with and almost every time time I heard him, especially towards the end of the story, I would cringe and/or mutter a few expletives at how bad it was - which is only exacerbated by the fact that you can't skip the bloody things even if you've done the same mission before!
I really hope they patch it to allow us to skip cut scenes as I would be very hesitant to buy any DLC for it in future if they don't.
