Question Can I get Sky without an external dish?

Since the community over here has an immense knowledge of sky I was wondering if anyone can help me out..

I moved to a flat and got sky installed around 6 months back. But after 6 months my landlord's property management company tells me that i can't have an external dish.

Can anyone else suggest an alternative i.e. is there an internal dish available in the market?

nope. it needs to be external as it needs line-of-sight with the satelite.

I know of people that can't get Sky because there is a tree at the other side of the road thats in the way.

as funk says it needs an external dish - only other option is cable - but then you dont get sky channels anymore.

Once had a dish setup in my balcony, worked well but of course you need a balcony and for it to be facing the correct direction. So as yes it needs to be situated outside, apart from that its freeview or cable.

thats still an external dish though. Not allowed in conservation areas or by some landlords or property management companies.

Same thing is happening in the development where I live (fortunately, while part of the estate, my house is actually freehold, so they can go screw themselves) and there are lots of pissed off residents getting pretty steamed about having the change to cable.

However, they found at that it would be permissable to have a communal dish installed and all run off that. This means the management company would have to arrange something, probably through a company like DC(UK) Ltd who used to do our sky system in St. George's Wharf....

Might be worth checking out. http://www.dcuk.net/commercial.htm

I think that is the same setup Tiggerai will be getting in her place. they aren't allowed individual dishes, so the developers are having to install communal systems.
