Been out snapping this afternoon in between MotoGP and F1 to kill a bit of time

Few general queries really, mostly aimed at my pics. Im still getting to grips with composure of shots etc but want to experiment with colours and effects (alot of you guys on here seem to get excellent contrasting and colouring in your pictures).







Is this done in the camera settings, or in post-processing? An example I remember well it pictures of Ealing station. The colouring was excellent, and the pictures were really well composed. Is alot of this due to post-processing, using lens filters or changing settings etc?
