Cheers for all the comments peeps. I know some people aren't too keen on the hdr effect but I liked the extra dimension it gave each photo. When I next get some free time I'll post up some non-hdr and black and white variants.

For me HDR is something that needs to be used in moderation. Not every photo looks good with it but you seemed to have the sense to choose photos where things like clouds and masonry stick out nicely and you didn't give too much of an effect (I might try with a tiny bit less, but you were in no way crazy with it). I look forward to seeing the non-hdr stuff and comparing.
I've only been exposed to HDR through this board (and I think only vipernet has made examples)...but I would like to see the non-HDR to compare. I think the HDR stuff is smart, but it would be nice to compare the original.
Made up a normal and b&w version of number 2. When I get a chance I'll install photoshop and clone out those lines as it was taking me too long with lightroom.
Cheers vipernet
I think in this instance the HDR works well as it brings out detail in the shadows...I really like wide angled shots, so was interested in how an original might have looked.
I recognise those photos nice work!
Would you believe I have not done a single HDR like that yet!
Some nice shots there mate!

I have CS3 and there is a built in HDR Merge I had a go on last night with three images taken in Exp Bracket at -1, 0, +1 but as I've found it really is essential to have a tripod and no moving subjects unless your using RAW. Still it was fun seeing the potential available using this technique.
I intend to properly capture some images for just this and have a little fun with it, no doubt I'll post em here.
Has anyone else used the CS3 HDR Merge? If so I could use some tips to be sure So far I havent found any settings that I can relate to the tutorial found in this thread.
EDIT: Also, windy days suck for this technique :O
