    zak, i know they're covered when they're in the PC
    what i meant was, when they're removed from the cage, with another one inserted, is the circuitry on the underside on display?

    the sata drive is normal...it has no case. It just slots in. It's why it's so clever...you just whack a SATA drive in.

    The device itself stays in the pc and the sata drive's that you use are bog standard with no additions.
