Freesat - anyone know if this'll work with Vista MCE?

    Hi all,

First post in the .lifestyle forum area and newcomer to media-center stuff so pls be gentle! As the title says, I'm thinking of getting Freesat and currently have Vista MCE working pretty well with my DVB-T tuner card. Anyone know if Media Center on Vista x64 supports Freesat?

Also, my flat has a Sky dish with the Sky+ dual-cables, can I use this for Freesat? And are there any tuner cards that support Freesat available yet?

    Cheers in advance

According to google and avforums it is possible. You have to use a registry edit to allow decoding of freeview channels. Apparently you just use cards that work with Sky.

The only sticking point will be ITV HD which is broadcast as a H.222 data stream as opposed to a H.264 video stream. This is accessed through the red button on Freesat boxes.

Does MCE let you use interactive content through Freeviews Red Button at the moment?

From what I've read red button isnt possible with freesat or sky via a pc, nor is the over air epg which instead has to be downloaded from the net.
