    Question audio cassette to mp3?

dunno if this is the right place for this so if not please move to the correct place

someone in work asked me today how to convert music on audio cassette to mp3 - the bloke has a set of decks & records his stuff onto cassette but wants to keep it on his laptop or on cd in mp3 format

anyone done this sort of thing? whats the best way of going about this?

any suggestions gratefully received - ta

I would've thought the quality would be pretty crap. But most motherboards/sound cards now have an input of some kind. You can get a cable to link the cassette deck's RCA outputs to the input jack on the comp (can't remember the correct names! ).

What kind of software you can use to capture the sound, I don't know/CBA to look!

an amp would make it worse - just stick an aux cable from the aux out -> aux in on a decent soundcard and get some decent recording software on the go
