    re: New Ultra wide screens

What a load of rubbish. Philips make terrible quality screens, filled with gimmicky technology such as ambilight. When will they stock pissing about with gimmicks and make a properly good quality tv.

I'll stick with Samsung and Panasonic thanks...

The Alienware monitor on the other hand looks like something worth looking at, there is a video of it (albeit a poor quality one) on youtube here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2yT6OuGXmGo

    Re: New Ultra wide screens

Looks like a great idea for a dedicated film room (for those who can't be arsed to faff about with projectors).

Will keep an eye on this and see how it pans out

Also that Alienware monitor looks S-I-C-K!!! Would love to have one of those, but I bet AlienTax will make it ridiculously unaffordable

    Re: New Ultra wide screens

Still no details on the promotion site, but Megawhat.tv has been getting all up close and personal with it.

    http://www.megawhat.tv/clips/738/FLR_Philips_21_9

It's a 56" and Philips are being a little "fridgid" with details.

Anyone ever heard of MegaWhat.tv? I haven't before now.

    Re: New Ultra wide screens

Wish these movie people and tv making folks would get their act together.. I'd love to be able to watch all the movies I buy future one one screen at home with no black bars. Especially with so many review going on about clouding issues on larger LCD panels.
