Selling Photos (Bands)

Basically... I did a review and photos for some bands the other week, all local bands so not high profile...

one of the bands has approache me asking to buy my photos...

I know they have bought photos from the other photographer that wa there, but i dont know how much for...

I have the same amount of photos and basically i dont know how much to ask for...

their intended use is for myspace only, and theres 11 photos...

anyone got any suggestions?

obviously i dont want to ask too much so they think screw it its not worth it, and then again i dont want to ask too little that it makes it not worth while asking for any money...

tips?

the thing about hobby bands (bands that aren't full time) is that they feel that they shouldn't have to pay out their soul for any photographs they might use in their advertising, unlike full time and known bands..

now depending on how good your shots are i'd say you can ask from 50-100 for a disc of high res images (all keepers)

but if its myspace use only, i give them away free with my watermark on

hmm, thats where i was tending to go with the myspace shots to be honest.... (and what I've done every other time previously)...

my only real problem is i dont have a set watermark... i really should get round t making one, bu im not very creative

I think i might say that they can use them for no cost, provided that they link to me (might even make a banner ad) on their myspace page...

I give band lo-res, watermarked images for free, if it is just for web use...
