    YATT (Yet Another Tripod Thread)

So tripods, i'm looking for something light, i want to be able to carry it in the cabin without any problems.

So i figure a ball head will be best, even thou i rather like my dad's very old aluminum pan.

I was looking around on fleebay:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FT6825A-Pro-Ca...4.c0.m14.l1262

Weight looks ok, comes with everything i'd need, and i can get a mate to take it back from the US next week.

Anyone heard of these people? They look similar to Slik in design? I can't figure out who these chinese people have been knocking off!

So no ones heard of em?

    According to:
    http://www.studiodaily.com/studiomon...ssue/8857.html

About 90 percent of the Chinese carbon fiber tubes come from two factories owned by two companies, Benro and Weifeng. The Benro and Weifeng tripods often appear in the U.S. under OEM or private-label brand names, such as Giottos and Induro.
CamLink i believe are also Benro.

So no ones used em? I'm tempted to have a punt because i really want something light weight!

no idea i'm afraid. thats pretty heavy though, much heavier than I'd accept.
depends on budget but if you want travel pod then check velbon ultra luxi. if you're feeling flush then get a gitzo traveller. Either way its worth the extra expense to get a good tripod

tbh there's three options; light, sturdy, cheap. pick two cause the other one it wont be: want sturdy and cheap? it wont be light, or similarly want light and sturdy? it wont be cheap.

That looks exactly the same as mine which is branded Benro - same price too. I've got twist lock legs instead of catches though. It's alright and it'll be fine for reasonably light stuff, but I'd say 1.5kg is probably the max it's comfortable with, after this you start to have to really screw in the knobs to avoid droop. The head is arca-swiss compatible which should come in handy.

It holds my a900 + KM 17-35 just fine (about 400g of lens) but struggles with my Zeiss 135 (about 1kg of lens).
