I need some new headphones/earphones

Hai,

I am looking to buy a set of headphones or earphones, although i prefer headphones, for about £40, they need to have good bass, because I listen to a lot of Drum and Bass, Dance, House and some Dubstep. They also need to be able to go quite loud as i will use them for bike-riding or driving, (or they can be noise-cancelling).

Any suggestions, as I have no idea what to get, and have been using ipod earphones for the last 4 years, and as they have broken I have nothing

Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm a trance baby and love the Sennheiser CX300's when I'm out and about... best earphones I've ever used and really pick up the bass (the best bit)

Compared to ipod earphones they are a million times better.... and you don't have to have it so loud....

I'm using a set of Sennheiser CX500's which I got for about £20 and can't grumble about them.

Pretty much anything would be an upgrade from the standard iPod headphones - I used mine once and then binned them!

i can recommend the Sennheiser CX300-II or the CX-95s (although the 95s has a short, even length cable as opposed to the y-type cable - where one earphone cable is longer than the other)

For on-the-ear headphones, I can recommend the Koss PortaPro or Sennheiser PX100.

Love mine, not sure they are in budget mind.

I used to love Shure headphones and over the years have had several sets but the E2C's and E3C's I've got have been replaced at least 3 times each. Shure are replacing them without fuss each time but the product quality seems to be lacking with them of late.

I am aware, but mostly (when using earphones) have them over the ear, and just hanging down, it seems quite retarded, but it works,

I was looking at the WESC Oboes or the JVC RX300 Extra Bass Headphones, but wanted something that would be more comfortable for long periods of time, but i was thinking of buying a set of earphones for watching movies or whatever and riding/driving, then the headphones just for music.

And because I do not know that much about Audio I cannot really make a decision on what to buy, and just end up buying what looks nice, but is not really functional, although the Z-5500Ds are nice looking and functional, but that is beside the point,

but i was not sure of the sound quality, does anyone have them or know about them?

Thanks for the input guys. I eventually bought a pair of Sony MDR-XB500s. They were just under £40 and they are a great pair of headphones, extremely comfortable aswell.
