    Speaker Interference

    Hi,

We recently purchased a surround sound system. The centre speaker seems to pick up a whining sound from something. The rest are fine. I thought it might be faulty but before taking it back I decided to take it round to the in-laws to test it.

It works perfectly round there. I have already tried disconnecting everything apart from the speaker and it still makes the noise.

I have also tried switching things off around it that could interfere with it.

Any ideas? I am a bit lost.

Could be a power hum, try a different plug socket / cable?

    Re: Speaker Interference

The cable to the blu ray player is hard wired so cant change that and I have tried it on another socket, and even another ring main. The problem persists

I have been trying to read up on it and some people mention ferrite rings?
