i was hankering over the 609 from bestbuy as they have a 12.5% off code taking it to £437

I also really want the Q Acoustice 2000 cinema package thats £500.

superfi said they would upgrade the front speakers to the 2020 from the 2010 and then i spot the gits have an offer on for both with quite a good discount!!!!!

just waiting for a reply on upgrading the fronts on that offer and including a cable bundle *sigh*

i have promised myself a half decent setup for a couple of years, really miss my old technics kit. not any more though, they are running in nice after a few hours

the 2010's are only about 3kg each, and its the wall mount they make for the 2000 series, this is the smallest speaker to fit the mount and i am good with a hammer drill, i recon i could swing off the wall mount and would try it if i had not done my back from hours bent over wiring stuff up or the fact 17 stone of me would bend it

when you read the reviews it says how boxy they sound out the box as they need a good run in. I had to ask myself WTF I was doing wrong, 3 hours later and they sounded brilliant, 3 days later and they sound amazing.

I was back at superfi yesterday to grab a few more banana plugs and the manager said they take up to 200 hours and i should get some music with a heavy bass line as 3 days is not enough time yet!

The recievers also got a setup mic you mount on a tripod and let it run its own calibration, this helps a lot as well.

Best way to run speakers in is to point them together, virtually touching one another and then wire one out of phase. Fire pink noise through them and leave them in an unused room for 24 hours or so. By wiring one out of phase they will cancel each other out so it won't be too noisy, but at the same time the speakers are still working hard. Even better, leave them over a weekend and go out.

If pink noise is too offensive, try the Tron Legacy or Dark Knight soundtrack. They've both got enough bottom end to sort most speakers out.

wires plus and minus the wrong way round on one, and let them face each other.

they will sound crap and quiet but work the balls off them, thanks for the tip lowe.

(now they are all fitted it will have to be when the mrs is out so i can crank things up!)
