My current amp (Marantz SR8500), speaker (Mordaunt Short Genie 5.1) & cable setup has become a bit cumbersome, and as we're moving into a new house I thought it time to review my options - and a colleague mentioned "sound bars" to me (of which I was skeptical at first).

Looking around, the Yamaha YSP-2200 with its ARC output and 3x HDMI 1.4 inputs looks just the ticket to sit under the TV (Samsung UE46B7050, HDMI input 2 is ARC-enabled) discretely.

HTPC will be connected through the device initially, later possibly a 3DBD player.
ARC will be used for in-TV sources (i.e. aerial input, Internet apps, etc.).

Has anyone here any real world experience of this piece of kit?
I'm not an audiophile by a long way, but I like my "surround"
