Hmmm, I can hear the difference, say between a standard optical and a cambridge audio analogue set of interconnects, but I'm not convinced that you get that much extra that spending the extra £100 or two on expensive cables wouldn't be better spent on a decent amp/cd player/dvd player, or whatever.

As for speaker cables, I can tell the difference between bell wire and 99p/m stuff, but not beyond that. Haven't tried biwiring speakers so I can't comment on that, but people will try and tell you it makes a difference.

Well I guess I should comment on this... The general rule of thumb is that you should spend about 10% of the cost on your system on cables. My personal opinion is that the cables that come with most systems are not great quality. But that most people would not be able to tell the difference between a £50 upgrade and a £150.00 one.

Most lower to mid range Ixos cables or top of the range Profigold cables are as much as most people will need.

    Don't worry - I used 15amp mains core when I was a student.

It's only copper - nothing magical
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.
