    Budget - Max £200 - Require Mini Hi-Fi System

As title really, budget is Max of £200 and i need a nice small Hi-Fi system for my room. My requirements are:

    • Must have a CD Player
    • Must have Radio
    • 2 speakers included in price
    • Must be compact and neat
    • Is new

I like the look of wooden effect systems over something that is an overload of plastic and metal but I am open to suggestions. Simple is better

    Thanks

Spend a bit more and get a Denon DM31 and some small but good speakers e.g. Missions or Gale mini monitors. That's cost you less than £250 and it'll sound a lot better than any mini-system could. The speakers that come with most minis are just terrible; proper speakers make so much difference.

I have a Denon DM30, no different to the 31 cept slightly different looking.

If you can stretch to the DM31 you will not regret it, there is nothing that can really compete with it for that price.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...109245-7626041 is the one I have and I am very pleased with it Being able to use the remote to flick through songs (as well as DVD's) on my PC is a nice feature and the sound is good too.

I've no doubt the ones already mentioned are much better though.

I like the look of the base unit but I am looking for wooden speakers as they suit stuff thats in my room better

I agree with what's been said - Denon are the class leaders when it comes to mini hi-fis. Their units sound good and look good, and their speakers are actually designed by Mission.

Second place would probably go to Pioneer as some of their mini systems are pretty decent too. Some look a bit too plasticy and garish though.

I like them....but the price is above budget i have decided and just not worth the extra £50...sorry, but i limited my price to that because of cash issues.

Quite a lot of nice Sony ones sticking around that price...gonna head for one of them i think.
