    TFT £500 max budget

Ok want either a 17" or 19" tft at the end of this month (so no day/week only).

So far considering going el cheapo LG 1710b or el expensivo samsung 193t.

Alot of my time on pc is web browsing, but when I do game its mainly fast paced fps (not sure on responce time issues for 19").

Anyway my ideal screen would be a 1720p but as you can't buy em over here that ones out.

    Suggestions please!!!

    LG 1710B is brilliant.

Good for gaming as its got a 16ms responce time, most 19" will be 25ms and will 'ghost' noticeably.

Also looking for a tft. Are there any 19" 16ms ones?
I have a 21" crt, going down to 17" tft would be bad

What new TFT technology? I have dual monitors now (15" and a 19" CRT) and when I go to uni I don't really want to eat my deskspace up, so I'm contemplating dual 17".

    Do tell...

    Right

I read in micromart and they are usually reliable that new technology is being developed for implementation in lcd monitors. If this new technology can be harnassed then monitors are going to get both much faster and cheaper. Its called Biaxial Nematic Liquid Crystal. They say that hopefully we'l start seeying these sometime next year hope so

Hmmmmm, it'll probably be too late by then. Prices won't come down for a year or so after their release I reckon.

Still, you know... we'll just have to see.

    Cheers.

Yes there is, they're going to be using nano-technology in TFT's and first appearances are to be very end of this year / start of next year.

At least prices are coming down as it is anyway albeit slowly

I want a tft but i really want at least 20ms response time, dvi and preferably 19". I cant afford one tbh, can justify it when my crt works fine and isnt vene a year old
