    Question Surround Sound Setup

    Hi guys,

Thought I would pick your brains if that's okay.....

    Problem....
Too many speakers and wires running around my room, just so i can have surround sound on my puter and TV...

    Solution...
Apart from the fact I now store my hifi and the 2 other speakers from my old creative speaker system in the loft solving my cable issue, i want to setup a home cinema system that can have my PC, XBOX, Video, (CrapView) box and TV to....

I've not got the best TV in the world but it does what I need it to do...

Could you recommend a good 7.1 amp what can take lots of inputs.

Computer: I have the option of 3.5mm jacks from the sound card to phono's or digital
    CrapView: Stereo phono
    Video: Stereo phono
    XBOX: Stereo phone

I haven't got a seperate DVD player atm I either use my XBOX or my PC (with s video and audio plugged into the TV) so might be willing to get a combo type bundle... but i aint seen a 7.1 bundle yet....

I dont want to spend the earth btw..... just enough to get a nice setup rather than a setup which is totally crap and don't work.. would like some future proofing with new sound systems (so would like to have DTS, SDDS, Pro Logic 1 and 2, and the usual nice ones )

    Cheers inadvanced

    Stu

There's a sony 7.1 out there for around £300 which got really good reviews, but for the life of me I can't remember the model number...

    {EDIT: http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/product.asp?id=3360}

If you can cope with 6.1 then I'd go for the Denon 1705 @ about £200 which is supposedly great

If you want a 7.1 amp then I'd go for a Denon 3802. Real powerhouse and a nice bit of kit. 2nd hand it'll be around £250-300.
