Me say Fuji goooooooooooooooooooooood; mind you I'm still on a 2MP 2800z. Still does what I need it to, though. If anyone wants to jump in with a better idea, please do. Alternatives might include HP's R707 - http://www.dabs.com/uk/Search2/Produ...rchphrase=R707 - but if it were me, I'd go Fuji again.

Probably the best camera review site on the net, even if you have made your mind up, see what he has to say

don't forget to include a new memory card in when looking for cameras though as nearly all new cameras only come with an 8 or 16mb card and you will need a bigger card.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

look for the Canon Powershot A85, great camera. 4 mega pixels, optical zoom and all that and leaves you £40 for a memory card

Oh - sorry, missed the 5mp requirement

The Fuji falls slightly short on MP but has cracking optical zoom, nice controls too.

Canon A-Series no doubt, in 2 years i've yet to see any camera that beats it for the creative user. If you want features and manual controls and canon quality then go for an A-Series

    all 5mp, 3x optical:

    Pentax Optio s50 (around £179)
Konica Minolta Dimage G530 (around £170)
    Nikon Coolpix 5200 (around £205)
    HP R707 (£179)

I think I've seen the Fuji E510 5mp digicam for £179 in Argos of all places!

The Sony P100 is around £208 but then you'd have to buy a sony memory stick which is pretty expensive - P93 around £200 as well.

I'd go for the Nikon myself, cracking cameras
