what is best to record 10hrs tv while on holiday

going away for 3 and a half weeks and my girlfriend does not want to miss her soaps. Been looking at getting something like a dvd recorder or hard drive recorder and thought this is the best time to get one.

Only prob with getting a dvd recorder is I don't know of any dvd that can record 10 hours. Like look of hard drive recorders but they are expensive.

    ideas/suggestions?
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

4 hour tape, 8 hours on long play, 12 hours on extended long play

quality might suck, but cheap and effective

Get a tv card, plug your main house aerial into it and use software to record the programs?

Though you'd have to leave the PC on 24/7 until you got back, unless you could figure out a way to get it to either go on standby/turn off at certain times and on again when it needs to record.

No idea what tvcard/software though dude.

Humax PVR8000T - Freeview receiver with 40GB/80GBHDD - 20/40 hours recording in a PVR type way, and can be had for under £150 IIRC... was thinking of getting something like that myself...
