Question Projectors, I have nae clue...

I want a projector. Thing is, I haven't a clue where to begin. Basically, I want to plug my PC into and have a nice big, crisp clear resolution and also I want to connect my DVD player up to it as well and get crystal clear movies. If anyone can point me in the direction of some decent reading on projectors, or perhaps can give me advice, recommended products, etc. I'd be grateful.

Panasonic AE700 - feed your PC to it via DVI->HDMI.

I personally would prefer a DLP projector to LCD but the Panny AE700 does look pretty nice, as it has a proper widescreen chip, which should give better definition on any widescreen material. Ideally as David says you want to feed it from a PC with a DVI output, or a DVD player with DVI/HDMI.

The trouble is with DLP - would you prefer top of the range LCD or bottom DLP - catch 22

Thanks Gents, a good start so far. Dug up this old gem from the forum depths...

DLP is selling itself to me at the moment. Any recommendations of DLP projectors?

Well, I went for a demo of the Infocus Screenplay 4805 and it did look particularly luscious, though I haven't compared it to anything else. Mind you, in sevenoaks sound and vision I saw a £3500 DLP projector and it looked awful. Best bet is to go down to your nearest sound and vision retailer and ask for a demo or two.

I got bored of reading up on these puppies - really pleased with mine.

Finally got a HDMI to DVI cable the other day
