    City Pics Needed

Right, we're putting together some tshirts based on various cities around the world. They're for commercial sale, and 50% of profits will go to charity....but we can't seem to find the pics that we need, so I thought I'd ask around.

    We're looking for pics of ;

Sydney (Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondai Beach, Kangaroos or Koalas, street signs)

Tokyo (Mount Fuji, Pagoda, Neon Light, Japanese Writing, Street Signs, Monorail, Cherry Blossoms, Modern & traditional buildings)

New York (Empire State & Chrysler building, Statue of Liberty, taxis, police, central park, street & shop & subway signs, Brooklyn Bridge)

Las Vegas (Welcome to Vegas sign, hotel signs, street signs, strip picture - day & night, neon lights, buildings, funky Vegas stuff)

Los Angeles (Beverly Hills sign, freeway signs, street signs, Santa Monica & Venice Beach, Hollywood sign, palm trees)

London (Big Ben, London Eye, phone boxes (old style), bobbies, palace guard, buckingham palace, BT Tower, Bulldog, Pearly Queens, buses, cabs, street signs)

Paris (subway signs, eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc De Triumph, Notre Dame, Arc la Defance, street signs, Sacre Coeur, Paris Stuff)

I've been through Getty Images (hugely expensive) iStockPhoto (very cheap, but limited in several areas), and currently checking Flicker (soooo much useless trash), and so now I'm coming to you....

If you think that you picture is worth more than iStockPhoto prices, then let me know, and we'll see what we can do, and everything will be dealt with on a case by case basis...Plus you get to show off your travel pics...

    Cheers for any help...

Cheers Noah, I know from some of your submissions to the comps that your pics are of high quality...

However, I think that the original mood of the picture might detract from the actual feel I want from each of the objects I'm looking for. I can always post-edit a pic to give it the feel I want, but it's tricky to take a dark subject and make it look bathed in sunlight, if you know what I mean. However, I'd still be delighted to see what you've got, if that's alright....cheers...

I'm doing all the sourcing now, with the intention of getting the pics bought by next week, so you might just be out of time....see what's happening to the thread when you get back, you never know....

As for quality, as long as the lighting in alright, and the angle works, they'd be what I'm looking for...I'd love to see anything people have got just in case you've got that one perfect shot

I've got some photos from Australia, with some of Sydney in there (the opera house, the bridge, and a few other random harbour shots) if you want to take a peek...

They were taken a while back so aren't amazing, but are 6MPx. If you want to see them they are in a photobox shared album, so PM me your email address and I'll get photobox to add you to the list of people allowed to see the album...

Also, feel free to look here if you're interested in Toronto, Montreal or Quebec, these pics are 4MP full resolution, but I only have them at about 1MP on the website.

can you give us any details on the level of quality (image res etc) you need? I've got London, New York and Sydney on varying qualities of image but all are lower than 2500x1400

Alex...I'll give you a shout tomorrow (Wed) re the albums if that's alright...

Uncharmed ... I've worked with images for tshirts as low as 800x600, but they're hardly ideal. Anything you've got I'd love to see. There's going to be some post editing to the final images, possibly to introduce a grain to the final image, so low res might have less effect than you'd think...

I posted some shots of Tokyo here, including my favourite one of the neon in Ginza. I have some daytime shots too, but most of the shots of traditional buildings (pagodas, temples etc.) I took in Kyoto rather than Tokyo. LMK if you're interested and I could scan some more in.

Rave .... I saw the shots (very nice btw) but apart from a couple of encompasing shots which give the whole vibe of the city, I'm looking for the specific elements which will instantly make them think of that city.....

Given the average kiddy clothes shopper's knowledge of Japan, I'm sure that all your Kyoto pics would be perfect for representing Tokyo...although shopper's in Tokyo might disagree...I'd love to see some of them....
