took some more yesterday with the 100-400 and mate's 350D. not your average walk around lens but still, cracking range and great results.

Some nice candids and rowing shots there mate
Shame the site doesn't display the EXIF info under each shot - it's interesting to see the info, especially the focal length
I'm sure I spotted your dog in amongst that lot! :O
cheers, once again getting a taste of a dSLR. god-damn-it. i'm this close ][ to getting a 1dmkIIn or 5d, still not sure which as the 5D is droping in price the whole time...
yes...Ralph got his day's walk in...totally finished him off though, poor lad!
i could dig out some exif for those you want info on...hot link the image to here [if it can be] and I can go hunt the exif down.

I'm not that insanely eager to know exposure info, it's just a nice touch when you're browsing through pics, I find
I don't know if places like Jessops stock such high end cameras, but can't you try to give them both an in-store whirl somewhere, perhaps a single (not chain) photography shop? May help you choose between the two...
Thing is, I don't think you can go far wrong with either. If I were you i'd errr toward getting a 5D, simply because it's full frame, so you can use your current crop of lenses as well as anything else you decide to pick up. I'd love a full frame dSLR. Shame they're so pricey.
The 1dmkIIn has a 1.3x crop factor doesn't it? Sounds like a good middle ground between full frame and an APS-C frame (you get a little more reach on your telescopic lenses whilst still maintaining relatively wide shots) but I think by getting one, you're limiting your lens choices a little. I assume you can't use "digital" lenses on it, as they'd only have an imaging circle wide enough for APS-C frames... That's fine, because you can still obviously use full frame lenses, but you kind of cut yourself out of the superwide range. Which i'm a big fan of.
I need to explain that a little better - the widest full frame lenses i've seen are 15mm (I own one ) which is super-mega cool wide on a full frame, but not quite so great on a 1.3x crop. Of course then there are your 8/10/12mm lenses, but the only ones i've seen are APS-C only.
Just food for thought.
