    wide angle birds

was in an odd mood today and thought i'd try something a little different, follwed by a couple of normal ones of course. nothing too exciting but it's all i had to hand.

both on the sigma 10-20mm @10mm:

    and with the 18-70 @70mm

forgot to put the 70-300 in my bag! oops

    thanks.

    Loving all of them sir!

The superwides are great fun. There was a miniguide in last issues practical photography about shooting wildlife with superwides

Some weird flare or something going on with the trees on the first shot - serious loss of contrast :\ Also horrendous JPEG artifacting, but that's obviously not a real problem
I'd also be tempted to clone the birds in flight on the first one. It may be down to JPEG artifacting, but they're just somewhat distracting. They look like crud on your sensor :<
While I'm moaning, I'd like to see a touch more DoF on both of the superwides - it's a shame that the seeds (and beak in the second) fall OOF.

I realise you were in a very awkward shooting situation - but I still like to moan

Done with the ol' exams yet? Or are they just in full flow?

edit : Hang on, where did you take these?
I don't recognise it. Looks nice

    thankyou for the comments guys.

you're right about the dof hoodi, these were shot at f6.3, i didnt really think about it too much but i think i shall go back with my own corn and try again with my remote. the trees i think is a stuff up with my post processing cos it aint there in the original! jpeg artifacts are unfortunately due to file size limits on another forum. it was all processed very quickly so i'll have another go tonight.

cheers for the critique tho, points well made

as far as exams go, they're all done, i find out on friday how they went. they felt ok, but you never know.
