Sky to show all six Star Wars movies in HD

Sky now has the rights to show all six Star Wars movies in high definition. The company already held rights for the first three of the series - which are being shown in its current Star Wars' season - and has now signed a deal with LucasFilm for the remaining trio.

As yet, Sky's not saying when episodes IV-VI will be shown but the Christmas period, in our view, seems the most likely time.

Sky happily points out that the deal means that it will be the only UK broadcaster to show the entire saga in "glorious HD". So, bad luck NTL Telewest.

Hmmm £300 to join, £60 to install and £10 per month on top of £25 for premium movies...

    I'll pass.

I'm gonna wait at least another year until I take the plunge and get Sky HD, hopefully the price will come down, or more channels will take it on.

Well, Dad loves his TV and has it all - but unfortunately, he is out of the country for 6 months so I guess that I will have to look after it all for him... Its a tough life...

I just watched the one of them on Sky Movies HD, was very impressed by the quality of the picture and sound. I kept on flicking between the normal channel and the HD channel to look at the differences.
