    Podcasts without the iTunes Store?

So as I've moved to university, I'm behind a proxy meaning I can't access the iTunes music store. Before I spend a hefty lump of my loan on an ipod, I wanted to find out if I can browse and download podcasts to my ipod without using the iTunes store? Any alternative programs, or some way to get itunes to accept proxy settings would be nice

I use a program called Juice, though you have to provide your own xml feeds for it.

Works well though, and uses much less resources than the bloated iTunes.

Had a look for a program called Instant Media, should do everything you need.
