    HEXUS Photo Challenge:"Ground Level"

Thanks to all the people that entered photos into the last competition and well done to the winner. It's time for a new photo challenge. This time the topic is "Ground Level"

By "Ground Level" we mean taking a picture from as close to the ground as possible. The actual picture can be of anything but you will be judged by others users on subject, style, technical skill etc

The rules are simple (reminder below too), you have two weeks to capture your best shot that fits the category, your shot must have been captured in the time from this post to the end of the challenge, no retro-posting please. the subject is:

    "Ground Level"

Usual rules apply - it's about your talent as a photographer. Editing is permitted to highlight your subject but heavily edited images that severely distort things are not the aim. I usually suggest edits limited to sharpening and levels adjust (as per-usual from a dSLR RAW file for example) but in this instance use your editing wisely. Black-and-white and colour pictures are both allowed.

You take as many pictures as you want from now until the 14th February - that's nearly two weeks. Then you pick just ONE to submit, multiple submissions will not be accepted.

Re-size your image to NO LARGER THAN 800x600pixels and 200K in size.

Please email your picture which meets the above specification, I'll then upload them to a server so users can't guess which photo belongs to individual members.

[a list of free image editing software and free image webspace providers can be found in the in the Creative section].

Entries in by 14th February, 21:00

    nflood@gmail.com

Please state your Hexus User name when submitting your image

A thread will be started on Thursday 15th February and voting will be open for five days, the exact time that voting ends will be made known. Images submitted late may not get in!

    Good luck!

I'll see what I can come up with. I assume I can I still enter since it was my suggestion for the theme?

I think that would unfairly influence people's shots - the idea is generally to give people a title and see how they interpret it. I have a few ideas...

Nick - I have a few shots potentially at the moment and am trying to decide which one to submit. Are we judging based on the title or your guidelines? I generally preferred it when a cometition was a title and no guidelines as it encouraged more creative thinking...

Got to agree with Splash, a title should suffice. It allows people to have a bit of fun with the concept...

So are we emailing images now? What's the point of the reference to free image webspace providers?

Please email in the picture files. Sorry didn't notice the free image webspace text as it was a copy and paste job

Are we judging based on the title or your guidelines?
I guess it would be good for people to look at the title and then come up with something creative.

So if I, say, took an UNDERGROUND picture I would win because mine would be closer to the ground?
