    Unhappy Panasonic SC-RT30 - Help...

    Hey Guys,

    I'm really struggling to get this working with my dad's skybox.

    ive got it setup as:

    sky(av1)--->dvd(av2)
    dvd(av1)--->tv(av1)

    (ie, how the manual suggests I set it up)

    The only way I can get anything through sky is by turning off the dvd home cinema system. which is useless as the whole point is that we get the sound coming from it.

    I also connected it up as

    sky(av1)--->tv(av1)
    dvd(av1)--->tv(av2)

    with the headphones socket (on the tv) feeding into the stereo(red+white) input on the back of the dvd player, which means I can have all the sound of sky(or the wii or whatever) coming through the dvd surround, but I dont know if I can record sky onto the dvd player (recorder/home cinema/whateveryouwantocallit)...

    I had a quick google, and there is someone on the AVforums with the same issue (posted 30-12-2006 however), with no replies...

    Has anyone got any ideas on how to get this to work? The manual says 'Press the INPUT button on the remote to select AV2' but the INPUT button does jack all... I've setup plenty of tv/dvd/vcr/etc combinations before, but this one has me stumped and im beginning to think its a defect with the player

    Ok... all sorted.

    sky(av1)--->dvd(av2)
    dvd(av1)--->tv(av1)
    wii(svhs)--->tv(av4)
    tv(phono)--->dvd(phono) [tv set to feed av4 audio into the external phono, bit of a quirk of this hyundia 42"]

    If the dvd player is in DVD mode (there are 4 buttons on the controller DVD / FM / AUX / INPUT) then you can press INPUT to cycle through the inputs (a1/a2/a3/dv) but this only works after you're pressed DVD.

    I assumed that the INPUT button would override this but it seems not. anyhow all sorted.
