    4GB on fatal1ty fp-in9 sli

    Will 4x1GB of Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-12 work on the Abit fatal1ty fp-in9 sli motherboard?

    Thanks

You can use our Memory Configurator to check compatibility.

    Memory Configurator Result: http://www.corsairmemory.com/configu...aspx?id=137022

However, since it is an AM2 MOBO there is no guarantee how the system will run 4 DIMMs. It should work fine but the ABIT bios will be the determining factor.

LOL....650i, sorry I had Nvidia and AM2 on the brain when I replied. Thanks for hitting me over the head with a chair. I would say the same applies, the ABIT bios will determine how well this board does with 4 DIMMs. My ASUS 650i board does great with 4 DIMMs so you should be fine. However, if you have the option, I'd do 2 x 2gb to lessen the load on the NB.

Buff, how is the stock NB cooler on this board? The ASUS was terrible and I went with a Swiftech and then water later. If you run 4 DIMMs on this board make sure your NB is WELL cooled as it is a HOT chipset.

Its pretty much the same - I think that all 650is need better nb cooling for serious overclocking than comes as stock.

That is bad since this board is branded as Fatal1ty. You'd think it would have better cooling.

Fatality isn't an overclocking brand though it's a gaming brand - MAX boards are the overclocking brand.
