Agreed - as the OP appears to be using 2 sticks and not 4, its unlikely its this.

You can of course raise it by a small amount. You certainly won't kill the board by knocking it up a touch (Abit would be out of business if they did ) and see if you get less errors. If you do, it points to this area, but I highly doubt it is this

OK, passively cooled design NB...I touched it out of curiousity when I had the machine in bits doing the memtest on each module in each slot. It gets really hot. Almost too hot to keep my hand on it. I'll see if I can find a small fan for it and while I am at it, get the Dominator ram cooling thingy. More cooling never hurt.

    Action task:
    1. Flash BIOS
    2. Extra cooling + Up voltage to NB

I had the ASUS 650i MOBO (P5N-E SLI) and the NB was insanely hot. I used a Swiftech MC-159 on it. And yes, the small fan sounds like a good interim idea. Let us know how it goes for you.

The re-seller has asked to RMA the components back. I suppose that ends that testing. I did not flash the BIOS last night, needed the PC to talk to a friend in Singapore. If anything comes of it (information wise) I will let you know.

Thank you for your time Yellowbeard (et all).
