It seems the Kaveri successor in 2015 is called Carizo and uses Excavator cores :

I wonder what node it will be produced on, maybe GloFo 20nm? Or even 14XM if the roadmaps are to be believed?
Not relevant to day to day use,but an A10-6800K was overclocked to around 8.2GHZ with all four cores enabled:

Edit!!
An interesting article on porting a game to the PS4:

So Intel has decided to roll the MIC Knights instructions into their standard instruction set as AVX512?

That seems a lot of baggage for a core to haul around, I suspect the shared FPU on AMD could be a big win for implementing this.
Embedded Jaguar chip at 6W, and some guessing about ARM:

I wonder if that's meant to be SATA 3Gbps i.e. SATA 2?We took SATA to just gen-3
It looks like these embedded parts are shaping up to be an ideal, and long awaited IMO, x86 replacement for the Geode. Yep, I'm still waiting on that next-gen ALIX!
Not totally relevant to this thread, but it at least shows problems with ultimately trusting some benchmarks. It seems Samsung have been essentially cheating at some benchmarks with their Exynos S4.
Kudos to the original poster for discovering it, and to Anandtech for giving it some deserved publicity!

It's no doubt in this thread, but what's the current date likely for the 8 core Steamroller CPUs?
No-one really knows beyond speculation TBH, probably not until 2014 at the earliest though unfortunately.
Shame, I was hoping for a coordinated Steamroller + new GPUs + BF4.

I see Canuks have a review, that is the first decent one I have seen:

Yeah the price seems out of line with its capabilities. Canuks refer to is as a high leakage part, hence the bonkers TDP. Looks like this is like that overclockers only part that AMD did a few years ago that way given to some top overclockers and not actually available to buy. The difference is you can buy this one.
Edit to add: If the price is high because of availability, then it might come down over time.
It just gives a ton of ammunition to Intel fanboys ("It can be beaten in World of Warcraft by an i3").
My guess is it's partly so that when Steamroller comes out AMD can show how it compares to this (obviously a lot better for less money).
The review goes to show you don't need anything like an 850W psu unless you are doing sli/crossfire.
Considering what process it's on the power draw for the whole system although the gpu isn't being stressed is 248W. High by today standards I know.
The price is what is ridiculous.
