after market heatsinks just look better and are cooler and quieter
The only time I used the stock heatsink was when I wanted to double check the CPU temperatures, as I thought my other cooler wasn't mounting properly.
I've never used an aftermarket fan
I've had both AMD and Intel chips and stock serves me well.
Of course, you'd be silly to overclock with it (realistically)
