Hello,
I have the i5-4670k and plan to overclock it. What cooler do you think would be the best value for money (preferably under £50).
Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks

Big Air coolers £40 - £45 <22dba
Thermalright Macho or True Spirt

NZXT HAVIK 120
Tall heat spreaders on RAM can be problem. Heatsink with 140mm fan might not fit depending on width of your case.
NZXT looks good value @ Scan as it comes with dual fans.
My mounting preference is a bolt through kit with backplate. Plastic intel style push pins are a dreadful design for anything bigger than the stock intel fan.

Thanks, I'll probably go for the Havik 120.

I've been looking at scan, and they have the corsair H100 for about £40. Is this worth it, or do the air coolers out perform it?
Also, is it worth getting any other water cooled system, such as the NZXT Kraken?
Thanks

The H100i is newer, but similar performance. That's compared to the dark rock 2.
The H100 looks miles better in my opinion, than any air cooler, except maybe the Phanteks TC 14 PE. Much cleaner look. The refurbished H100 is a very good price and well worth it.

H100 for £40?! Yes please!
I own a Phanteks TC14PE and I can say it is an extraordinary cooler.
Depends if your case can accommodate a big chunky cooler (it is big).

The H100's here http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsa...ator-plus-2-fa, it is refurbished, however I've heard scan are very good.
I'm going with it, it's on homepage offers for about £41.
Thank you very much!

I have installed it, and it is a great cooler.
It sounds like a jet engine if you put if on full speed, so don't plug it into the motherboard if you can't control 3 pin fans!
Great purchase, for £40!

Hi, thought i'd hijack this thread seen as i have a similar question
Looking to upgrade the cooling in my new Haswell based system. I currently have a Corsair A50 Air cooler and im looking at their water coolers first and foremost.
Scan have refurbished H80's and H100's. Would either of these be a good upgrade? I'm trying to crack an overclock of 4.4/4.6 and the A50 allows the cpu to get too hot (i hit 100c in IBT).
Basically any advice is welcome. Are Corsair the best manufacturer to go for for water coolers (obviously i've used them before going by my PC specs ) or are there better ones out there?
Cheers in advance.
NZXT are worth looking at. If you search for benchmarks of the cooler, you'll normally see a comparison vs other coolers.

Cheers for the reply, the refurb's i mentioned are around £40 to £45. All other All in one Water coolers seem to be around the £70 mark which leads me to believe its a fairly good deal...though they have alot less warranty.
They come with a one year warranty - I don't know if scan's website has been updated, but their CS reps on the forum here confirmed it. Performance heirarchy looks something like H100 Intake>H80 Intake>H100 exhaust>H80 exhaust. What case you're using will dictate where you can mount it. In a 300R you'd probably be best with the h100 mounted in the roof.
Cheers herulach, yeah i'm leaning towards a H100 in the roof as there's space for it, i just need to check the motherboard isnt in the way.
I take it by 'exhaust' you mean having the 2 fan's blowing air over the radiator and out of the case?
It seems to be 3 months 'return to base' warranty going by Scan's listing.
